Many believe, “I am getting into heaven because I believe in Jesus and The Bible.” The notion of Heaven By Desire Alone is at the heart of Protestantism. We see a great error in Protestantism: “I am getting into Heaven!” Protestantism forgets: keys mean locks.
Jesus said clearly to Peter: “Verily, verily I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”
Why did Jesus gave Peter the keys to Heaven? He gave Peter the keys because there are locks. It becomes frighteningly clear: we canno get into Heaven unless someone with a key opens the gates.
The devil wanted to live in Heaven. He was thrown out and cannot get back in. The devil cannot force the Gates of Heaven. How can a mere human soul force his or her way into Heaven?
Jesus did not give “the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven” to any other person. He Founded One Church. He wanted one man in charge. Peter and his Successors were given “the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.” Many Protestants hate that. “He should have given them to me!” Others think, “At least He could have given the keys to a committee!”
Every rational person must consider Jesus’ words to Peter and ask: “If I do not honor and respect Jesus’ choice of Church and key-holder, can I get into Heaven?”
That’s a question that we must ask our Protestant friends and family. We must also remind ourselves: “If I do not respect The Only Church Jesus Founded and His power to give ‘the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven’ to Peter and his Successors, is my own soul too swollen with vanity to get into Heaven?”
