Many of us have read and re-read the Book of Revelation many times. We have also read many of the commentaries on Revelations. We even read comments on the commentaries.
One night, I stopped reading. I said to myself, “This is just too much for me to understand.” As I said those words out loud, I was suddenly blessed with some understanding.

There are “four animals” (thought by many to be Seraphim) around The Throne, (Rev 4; 8) “Each of the four animals had eyes all the way around, as well as inside.”
Chapter 5, verse 1 describes The Scroll with the Seven Seals. No one but Jesus could open it. “I saw that in the right hand of the One sitting on the throne there was a scroll that had writing on back and front and was sealed with seven seals.”
I realized the Seraphim and The Scroll were transparent to John. The four animals’ insides were visible. But, the only organs mentioned were eyes. That gave an insight to both their spiritual nature and their operative qualities. The internal eyes could see both the light coming into them, from the eyes on the outside. They could further “see” what they were seeing with their internal eyes.

The Scroll with the Seven Seals was written on both the front and back. The front and back could have only been seen by St. John if the scroll was transparent.
That leads to the possible conclusion that The Scroll was a rolled-up sheet of pure light, and the writing was opaque. But, the writing had to be transparent, too, or they would have kept the inner words invisible!
Suddenly, I was staggered by the truth in the Nicene Creed of The Catholic Church! “We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,begotten, not made, one in being with the Father.”
1 John 1:5 made it clear: “In Him there is no darkness at all.”
He Who Spoke Light into Being is light!
