God’s IQ Test #117. “Do I see what God does to disobedient people and nations?”

. Catholics connect the Old Testament with The New!

Question 1. Did Joshua gave his people the best advice there is? Jos 24:14-29 tell us: “Joshua gathered together all the tribes of Israel at Shechem, and addressed them, saying: ‘Fear the Lord and serve him completely and sincerely.”

Answer: “That is good advice!”

Question 2: “What did Joshua order his people to do?”

Answer: “‘Cast out the gods your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. If it does not please you to serve the LORD, decide today whom you will serve, the gods your fathers served beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose country you are dwelling. As for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.’”

~

Question 3: “What did the people decide to do?”

Answer: “But the people answered, “Far be it from us to forsake the Lord for the service of other gods.”

~

Question 4: “Why did the people decide to ‘serve the Lord’?”

Answer: They remembered what God had done for them! “For it was the LORD, our God, who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, out of a state of slavery. He performed those great miracles before our very eyes and protected us along our entire journey and among all the peoples through whom we passed. At our approach, the Lord drove out all the peoples, including the Amorites who dwelt in the land. Therefore we also will serve the Lord, for he is our God.”

~

Question 5: “What warning did Joshua give them?”

Answer: “Joshua in turn said to the people, ‘You may not be able to serve the LORD, for he is a holy God; he is a jealous God who will not forgive your transgressions or your sins. If, after the good he has done for you, you forsake the Lord and serve strange gods, he will do evil to you and destroy you.’”

~

Question 6: “Do we see that God always destroys the people, families, and nations who willfully disobey Him and The Words with Which His Son Spoke The Catholic Church Into Being: “And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”?

Answer: “Catholics connect The Old Testament with The New! What do we see? The people, families, and nations who willfully “forsake” The Catholic Church for “strange gods” always “destroy” themselves.”
