Part 2. “The Great Decree of Jesus Christ”.

.                                                    Jesus can keep us from drowning in the sea of vanity!

Question 1:  “What choices do we have in life?”

Answer:  “Most of us choose something like what is described in James 4: 13-17.  ‘Beloved:  Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we shall go into such and such a town, spend a year there doing business, and make a profit.’

~

Question 2:  “Doesn’t St. James tell us they are ‘beloved’?”

Answer:  “St. James tells us that the truly ‘beloved’ will ‘Come now’ to understand!   ‘. .  you have no idea what your life will be like tomorrow.  You are a puff of smoke that appears briefly and then disappears.’

Question 3:  “How do we deal with that depressing fact?”

Answer:  “‘Instead you should say, ‘If the Lord wills it, we shall live to do this or that.’

~

Question 4:  “Why do we have a hard time finding and doing what ‘the Lord wills’?”

Answer:  “‘Arrogance’ makes us ‘boast’ of our plans!  ‘But now you are boasting in your arrogance.  All such boasting is evil.’

Question 5:  “How can I get rid of the ‘arrogance’ that keeps me from putting what ‘the Lord wills’ in control my life?”

Answer:  “The Great Decree of Jesus Christ puts ‘the Lord’s’ Order in our life!  ‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’

Question 6:  “I have a hard time putting obedience to Jesus and His Church ahead of what I want!   Is that bad?”

Answer:   “St. James says so in The Bible!   ‘So for one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, it is a sin.’

Question 7:  “What is always ‘the right thing to do’?

Answer:   “The ‘right thing to do’ is to always base our beliefs on The Great Decree of Jesus Christ‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’

Question 7:  Should we ever get tired of saying that?”

Answer:  “No.”
