Question 1:  “What does Jesus tell us in This Daily Reading from Mt. 18:1-5, 10, and 12-24?”

Answer:  “The followers of Jesus asked a Very Important Question!    ‘The disciples approached Jesus and said, “Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?’

~

Question 2:  “How did Jesus answer?”

Answer:  “‘He called a child over, placed it in their midst, and said, ‘Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven.’

~

Question 3:   “Did Jesus answer their question about ‘Who is the greatest in The Kingdom of Heaven’?”

Answer:  “Not at first!  Instead, He described the people who will not ‘enter The Kingdom of Heaven’!

~

Question 4:  “After that, did Jesus tell them who was the ‘greatest in The Kingdom of Heaven’?”

Answer:  “Yes!  ‘He told them, ‘Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.’  The most ‘humble’ people are the ‘greatest in The Kingdom of Heaven’.”

~

Question 5:  “Did Jesus get more specific?”

Answer:  “Yes.   ‘And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives Me.’   The opposite is also true!  Whoever does not ‘receive one child such as this’ does not ‘receive Me’!

~

Question 6:  “Are we supposed to take care of all ‘little ones’?”

Answer:  “Jesus was very clear!  ‘See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of My heavenly Father.’

~

Question 6:  “Who are these ‘little ones’?”

Answer:  “His ‘little ones’ include the tiniest babies of all!  They are no bigger than a grain of salt when they begin to grow within their mother’s womb!”

~

Question 7:  “How do Catholics ‘not despise one of these little ones’?”

Answer:  “We follow This Catholic Teaching:  ‘Life must be protected from conception until natural death.’

~

Question 8:  “What does Jesus ask each one of us after that?”

Answer:  “Jesus asks every person the question each child’s ‘angels in Heaven’ will ask at God’s Judgment of our soul:   ‘What is your opinion?’

Catholics have this ‘opinion’!  May all be blessed to be ‘humble’ enough to never ‘despise one of these little ones’.”
