It’s hard for all of us to keep climbing up!

Catholics are blessed! 1. We know our life is a “ladder to Heaven”. 2. We ask God to let us keep climbing up!

Question 1: “What Bible Passage is hard for Willful Protestants and Catholics?”

Answer: “Heb 13:1-8 begins by giving us a hard job! ‘Let brotherly love continue.’ That’s not easy!”

Question 2: “Does Today’s Reading tell us how to ‘let brotherly love continue’?”

Answer: “We have to work! ‘Do not neglect hospitality, for through it some have unknowingly entertained angels. Be mindful of prisoners as if sharing their imprisonment, and of ill-treated of others as of yourselves, for you also are in the same body.’

Question 3: “What else do we need to do?”

Answer: “We must not let demons of lust lead us astray! ‘Let marriage be honored among all and the marriage bed be kept undefiled, for God will judge the immoral and adulterers.’

Question 4: “Most believers try to avoid that sin. What’s the next step?”

Answer: “The next step is hard for everyone! ‘Let your life be free from love of money but be content with what you have, for He has said, ‘I will never forsake you or abandon you.’

Question 5: “How do we benefit if we take those steps up?”

Answer: “We benefit forever by getting closer to God! ‘Thus we may say with confidence: The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?’ We must not let earthly temptations lead us to lose eternal joy in Heaven.”

Question 6: “What can keep us moving up on the ‘ladder to Heaven’ that is our life on earth?”

Answer: “Catholics are blessed with Saintly Examples of obedience of those who kept climbing. ‘Remember your leaders who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.’

Question 7: “‘The outcome’ of their way of life led to many being impoverished, jailed, tortured, and executed!”

Answer: “That is where living like Jesus may lead. We consider His example and know! ‘Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.’

May we all Think Clearly enough to put His eternal reward before our earthly concerns.”
