In Today’s Reading: Catholics meet Simeon and The First Named Nun! #4.

Today, we meet Simeon and Anna! Are they The First Catholics outside of The Holy Family?

~

Question 1: “Where are Catholics introduced to Simeon and The First Named Nun?”

Answer: “In Luke 2:22-40, Mary and Joseph had to ‘consecrate Jesus to The Lord’ at His Holy Temple in Jerusalem. That’s where they met Simeon. ‘It had been revealed to Simeon by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Christ of the Lord.’

Simeon ‘took Jesus into his arms and blessed God, saying: ‘Now, Master, you may let your servant go in peace, according to Your Word, for my eyes have seen Your salvation, which You prepared in the sight of all the peoples: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and glory for Your people Israel.’

~

Question 2: “Did Simeon have any Specific Word from The Holy Spirit to share with Mary?”

Answer: “‘The Child’s father and mother were amazed at what was said about Him; and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary His mother, ‘Behold, this Child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted, and you yourself a sword will pierce, so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.’

~

Question 3: “When did The Holy Family meet The First Named nun?”

Answer: “‘There was also a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher.
She was advanced in years, having lived seven years with her husband after her marriage,
and then as a widow until she was eighty-four.’

~

Question 4: “What makes Anna The First Named Nun in The Bible?”

Answer: “She lived as God’s Holy Sisters have lived for 2,000 years! ‘She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day with fasting and prayer.
And coming forward at that very time, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the Child to all who were awaiting the redemption of Jerusalem.’

~

Question 5: “How may we begin to live as Simeon and Anna did, and see The Power of Jesus in our lives?”

Answer: “Catholics know that we are distracted by many Things of The World. We may grow closer to Jesus by reading what God’s Holy Sisters have told us of His Power.”

~

May all of us be blessed to read “The Diary of St. Faustina”. Jesus chose her to give us what may be His Final Message. We can trust her because she spent her life as Anna did: “She never left The Temple, but worshiped night and day with fasting and prayer.”

The best book of the last Century is “The Diary of St. Faustina”. It lets each of us realize how much Jesus loves our soul. http://www.seraphim.my/divinemercy/diary/text/DiaryI.htm

A few of our free books are listed below. They are shared by Catholic Missionaries (who may include you) as anonymous as the unnamed believers identified by The Disciples of Jesus in Luke 10:1-22.

These free books are interesting. The anonymous author is an inventor with the unusual qualification of having over 160 U.S. Patents. He shares simple reasons to be Catholic.

”Crats!” is a very unusual novel. https://catholicfundamentalism.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Crats-Final-1.pdf

”New Road to Rome” is a simple Catholic look at The World and its History. https://catholicfundamentalism.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-Road-To-Rome.pdf

Catholics know more than we realize. We understand that every email we have written is also inscribed in our “Book of Life” that Jesus will read at our Judgment! https://catholicfundamentalism.com/the-book-of-revelation

The books are free. They cannot be bought. How often have you heard of that?
