For many years, I was in a Protestant denomination.  It had been invented before I was born.  Their Marketing Plan was “guaranteed”!   If we followed its teachings, we would get into Heaven!

I believed that.  Millions of us believed!  All of us thought we were doing something intelligent.

~

Then, our denomination’s doctrine changed!    People could get divorced and re-married as often as they wanted.   The denomination divided!  Each division let its followers believe what they wanted.

It changed again!

Did people want to avoid having a child?  They could have abortions.

They could use pills and implants.   Billions of babies, no bigger than a grain of salt, were killed.

My Protestant denomination never mentioned unborn children in the families of their own clergy and congregations.

~

I looked at other Protestant denominations.

They all repeated the same, simple thoughts.  “I am ‘born again’!  Are you ‘born again’?”  Many told what even I knew was a lie:  “Catholics worship idols!”

Not one of 45,000 Protestant denominations taught this:  “We must try to obey all that that Jesus taught.”

~

I knew Jesus did not want easy divorces and re-marriages.  I knew that Jesus did not want us to hurt unborn children.   What were Protestants doing?

I could not avoid the answer.  Protestant denominations were focusing on attracting donors!

~

My Protestant denomination did lead me to respect The Bible.  I saw a fact in The Bible!  Jesus told us of the only people He would let into Heaven!

“You are My friends if you obey My commands.”

Another Bible passage told me all I needed to know about where and how to worship Jesus.

“And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”

~

A Confession:  Protestantism helped me obey Jesus.
