A Fundamental reason to Be Catholic in Today’s Reading:

Catholics understand Today's Fundamental Reading about "the fleshly Body of Christ".

Today’s Bible Reading from Colossians 1:21-23 specifically tells us to Be Catholic!

“Brothers and sisters (All blessed to understand these Words):
You once were (before you were Catholic) alienated and hostile in mind because of evil deeds;  (Before we were Catholic, our minds were “alienated and hostile” because our “evil deeds” had not been forgiven by Catholic priests Ordained as living links with those connecting us to The Power Jesus gave only to Catholic priests in John 20:23.  They are authorized by He Who Fulfilled The Prophecies to provide peace: “Those whose sins you forgive are forgiven them.”

Catholics live by The Truth of the next verse: “God has now reconciled you in the fleshly Body of Christ through His death, (“the fleshly Body” can only refer to Catholic Communion provided by The Miracle of Transubstantiation!  Receiving That Holy Food from His Catholic priests lets Catholics be specifically identified as being among “You are My friends if you obey My commands.”  because His truest “friends” obey the Words repeated 12 times by Jesus in the second half of John 6 and twice more at the Last Supper: “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”

Those who obey His Specific Call to Catholic Communion allow us to be among His Chosen People:  “to present you holy, without blemish, and irreproachable before Him, provided that you persevere in the faith (We must “persevere” until death!) and  firmly grounded, stable, and not shifting from (rejecting the Marketing Plans of The Profiteers of Protestantism) the hope of the Gospel that you heard, which has been preached to every creature under Heaven, of which I, Paul, (a Catholic Bishop, Ordained by The First Pope, to found many parishes and dioceses) am a minister.”

Today’s Psalm 54:3-4,6, 8 lets us know “God Himself is my help”.  Catholics ask God to “by Your Name save me, defend my cause, hear my prayer, hearken to the words of my mouth,” and we will “Behold, God is my helper, sustaining my life.”  That is why Catholics will “offer you sacrifice and praise Your Name, O LORD, for its goodness.”

Today’s “Alleluia” (John 14:6) reminds Catholics to Be and Stay Catholic! “I am the way and the truth and the life, says The Lord;  no one comes to The Father except through Me.”  Catholics are the only people on earth who are blessed to live by His Church-Creating Word to His First Catholic Pope:  “And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”!

Then, Today’s Gospel from Luke 6:1-5 reminds us what Pharisees always accuse us of doing:  “‘Why are you doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?” when they were criticized by the usual Pharisees for “picking and eating grain.”

“Jesus said to them in reply, ‘Have you not read what David did when he and those who were with him were hungry?  How he went into the House of God, took the bread of offering, which only the priests could lawfully eat, ate of it, and shared it with his companions?”

Catholics, blessed to receive His Holy Body and Blood in Catholic Communion, know what Jesus said next!  “Then He said to them, ‘The Son of Man is Lord of The Sabbath.'”

Catholics live by That Overwhelming Truth every time we receive Christ’s “fleshly body” by eating His Body and drinking His Blood in Catholic Communion.

Today’s Simple Rhyme:  “Catholic Communion / puts us in union / With God!”
