A new idea! To Whom was the short Book of 2 John specifically written?

Was the second-shortest Book in The New Testament written to a ‘specific person’?

2 John

Question 1: “Who is the specific ‘Lady’ to whom John addressed this Letter? ‘From the Elder: my greetings to The Lady, the chosen one, and to her children, whom I love in truth – and I am not the only one, for so so do all who have come to know the Truth – because of the truth that remains in us and will be with us forever.’

Answer: “A new idea to many of us is that ‘The Lady’ is Mary. The Mother of Jesus is the only person in History whose ‘children know all The Truth’ we need to know about Her Son, Jesus!

Question 2: “What is ‘the truth that remains in us and will be with us forever’?”

Answer: “1 Peter 1:2-4 tells us that Catholics are ‘chosen by The Father’ to be among those blessed to receive The Actual Body and Blood of Jesus in Catholic Communion!

His living ‘Truth remains in us’ as long as we obey The Son’s Church-Creating Word: ‘And I say unto you, thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’

Question 2: “What is the meaning of the word John used for ‘Lady’?”

Answer: “The original word is ‘kuria’. It is the feminine form of ‘kurios, meaning ‘Lord’.”

Question 3: “What do we gain by being Catholic?”

Answer: “John tells us! ‘In our life of truth and love, we shall have grace, faithful love, and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father. It has given me great joy to find that children of yours have been living the life of truth as we were commanded by The Father.’

~

Question 4: “Does John ask Mary for Her Blessed Intercession for all of Her Catholic ‘children’?”

Answer: “St. John is clear in Verses 5 and 6! ‘And now I am asking you – dear lady, not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but only the one which we have had from the beginning – that we should love one another. To love is to live according to His commandments: this is the commandment which you have heard since the beginning, to live a life of love.’

Question 5: “Does that phrase ‘which you have heard from the beginning’ show Mary was part of God’s Creation Program from ‘the beginning’?

Answer: “Yes.”

~

Question 6: “What kind of people would not want people to Think Clearly about that?”

Answer: “John warns us about The Profiteers of Protestantism in the next five verses!

7. There are many deceivers at large in the world, refusing to acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in human nature. They are the Deceiver; they are the Antichrist.

8. Watch yourselves, or all our work will be lost and you will forfeit your full reward. (The willfully disobedient will not be ‘rewarded’ with ‘the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven’.)

9. If anybody does not remain in the teaching of Christ but goes beyond it, he does not have God with him: only those who remain in what He taught can have the Father and the Son with them. (There is no better reason to be Catholic!)

10. If anyone comes to you bringing a different doctrine, you must not receive him into your house or even give him a greeting.

11. Whoever greets him has a share in his wicked activities.’ (The Bible is clear! ‘greeting’ those who encourage us to not be Catholic gives us a ‘share in their wicked activities’!”

Question 7: “How does St. John bring his short Letter to an end?”

Answer: Verse 12: “‘There are several things I have to tell you, but I have thought it best not to trust them to paper and ink. I hope instead to visit you and talk to you in person, so that our joy may be complete.’ (John may writing to Mary while She remained in their home in Ephesus, orhe be speaking out loud to Mary in Heaven and his words were written down by one of those blessed to accompany him.)”

He concludes his Letter with Verse 13. ‘Greetings to you from the children of your sister, the chosen one.’

Question 8: Who are the ‘children of your sister, the chosen one’?”

Answer: “Every Catholic woman, including religious, wives, and mothers, is a ‘chosen one’ who is a ‘sister’ of Mary!”
