A new understanding of “remembering people in prison.” 2/7/25

May He Who Fulfilled The Prophecies let us see what kind of "prison" each of us is in.

May He Who Fulfilled The Prophecies let us see what kind of “prison” each of us is in.

Question 1:   “Why is remembering ‘people in prison’ so important that the third thing that Hebrews 13:1-8 tells us is:  ‘keep in mind those who are in prison as though you were in prison with them’?”

Answer:  “St. Paul was put in ‘prison’ three times.  He was also chained to a Roman guard on ‘house arrest’ for two years.  He knew how important it was to ‘keep prisoners in mind’.

St. Paul knew even more about being ‘imprisoned’.  While his mind and soul were locked into the Catholic-hating bias of his age, he was putting early Catholics in ‘prison’!”

Question 2:  “What let Paul be freed from the chains of popular thinking?”

Answer: “While Paul was going to Damascus to imprison early Catholics,  Jesus appeared and blinded him with His Light.  He was then blessed to ‘see’.  Jesus let Paul see how to be free from the ‘prison’ destined for souls who love pride, envy, greed, gluttony, anger, lust, and sloth more than God.”

Question 3:  “Why are Catholics supposed to help our neighbors be free from that ‘prison’?”

Answer:  “The immortal souls of those who do not escape are ‘imprisoned’ in the agony of hell for thousands of ‘life sentences’ that have no end.”

Question 4: “How do Catholics help our neighbors escape from that ‘prison’?”

Answer:  “We remind them of the Simple Fact!  He Who Fulfilled The Prophecies Spoke One Church Into Being with His Church-Creating Word to His First Catholic Pope:  ‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’

May all be blessed to focus, even at their last moments of life, on pleading with Jesus to give them those ‘keys’!”

Today’s Simple Rhyme:  “Please, Jesus, save my soul from hell / and endless pain and noise and smell.”
