A short look at a l o n g s e n t e n c e ! #9.

Question 1:  “How does a short look at a  l o n g   s e n t e n c e  help  Catholics understand 1 John 1:1-4?
Answer:  “The l o n g   s e n t e n c e begins‘Beloved:  What was from the beginning, (Astronomers’ powerful telescopes let us see ‘the beginning’ began 13 trillion light years ago with God’s two short sentences:   ‘Let there be light.’ and ‘There was light.’) and goes on to tell us what The Disciples saw from being with The Light Who Is Jesus:
‘what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we looked upon and touched with our hands concerns the Word of life —'”
~
Question 2:  “Is Jesus ‘The Word of Life’?
Answer:  “St. John is telling us Jesus, Himself, is ‘The Living Word of Life’!  ‘for the life was made visible;  we have seen it and testify to it (and died ‘testifying to it’!) and proclaim to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was made visible to us—”

Question 3:  “Did The Disciples see enough to help others find the ‘keys to The Kingdom of Heaven’ that Jesus Personally gave to His First Catholic Pope:  ‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’?
Answer:  “St. John is clear!  ‘what we have seen and heard we proclaim now to you (every person who is shown that Word), so that you too may have fellowship with us;  for our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.’
~
Question 4:  “What does St. John tell us after that  l o n g   s e n t e n c e?”
Answer:  One short sentence tells us why he wrote it!   ‘We are writing this so that our joy may be complete.’
~
Question 5: “That is a puzzle!  How can helping other people be Catholic let our joy be complete’?”
Answer:  “‘complete joy’ can only come from being eternally in Heaven with billions of other Catholics!  That’s why we all work and pray to help other souls find Jesus and get ‘the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven’  Every saved soul makes Heaven a Happier Place!
Being with Catholic souls we have helped bring to Heaven lets ‘our joy be complete’.
Catholics are blessed to see the connection between The Disciples and The Book of Revelation, 21:14, also written by ‘the most beloved Disciple’, that tells us what holds up Heaven:  ‘The wall of The (Heavenly) City had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.’

Today’s Simple Rhyme:   “Souls are either lost or found. / May we help all to The Highest Ground.”
