Catholics connect Malachi, The Last Book of The OLD Testament, with the Last Book of The NEW Testament, The Book of Revelation.

In The Last Book of The Old Testament, Malachi 3:13-20 connects believers with God’s Words about His people to The Last Book of the New Testament.  He describes every hypocrite who chooses to send their souls to hell in one sentence!

“‘You have defied Me in word’, says The LORD, yet you ask, ‘What have we spoken against You?'”

Today, many “defy God” by saying:  “I believe in The God Who said, ‘Thou shalt not kill.’ while I proudly proclaim:  ‘I am in favor of legalized abortion.'”

God’s description of those who “defy” Him continues:  “You have said, ‘It is vain to serve God'”.  Then, they ask we who believe: ‘How do you profit by keeping His command, and going about in penitential dress in awe of The LORD of Hosts?”

Then, God has Malachi tell us the lie that they live to justify taking from their neighbors to help themselves! “‘Rather must we call the proud blessed'”!

Then, God’s Prophet tells us the simple truth about human life on earth:  “for indeed evildoers prosper, and even tempt God with impunity.”

Malachi tells us what God’s people did in The Last Book of The Old Testament, written 500 years Before Christ:  “Then, they who fear The LORD spoke with one another, and The LORD listened attentively;  And a record book was written before Him of those who fear The LORD and trust in His name.”

That “record book” is specifically identified as “The Book of Life” six times in The Book of Revelation, which is The Last Book of God’s New Testament!   Catholics make that connection!

God then tells Malachi about those who love God and neighbors in this Messianic Prophecy: “‘And they shall be mine, says The LORD of Hosts, My own special possession, on the day I take action.  And I will have compassion on them, as a man has compassion on his son who serves him.'”

Catholics see what God’s true believers have seen since Abel:  “Then you will again see the distinction
between the just and the wicked;  Between the one who serves God, and the one who does not serve Him.”

God had Malachi tell us the eternal fate of disobedient souls with His Prophecy:  “‘For lo, the day is coming, blazing like an oven, when all the proud and all evildoers will be stubble, and the day that is coming will set them on fire, leaving them neither root nor branch.’, says The LORD of Hosts.”

The Salvation of God’s Obedient People is made clear in Malachi’s Prophecy of The Son of David Who would be born of a Virgin in Bethlehem with what may be The Most Blessed Pun in The Entire Bible!  “But for you who fear My name, there will arise the sun of justice with its healing rays.”

May all be blessed to have our immortal souls be among those blessed in Acts 16:14, “Open our hearts, O Lord, to listen to the words of Your Son.”

Catholics are blessed to guide our lives by The Church-Creating “words” of God’s “Son” in Mt. 16:18-20!  “And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”
