Are souls in Heaven able to see what’s happening outside?

A question. Are souls in Heaven able to see what’s happening outside?

St. John tells us that The City of God is a huge “cube”. It is fifteen hundred miles (2,414 kilometers) long, wide, and high. It’s almost as big as a cube the size of Australia! Revelation tells us that the lowest level of the Heavenly City’s wall is made of “diamonds”.

God made those blocks of diamond. So, they are perfectly transparent.

Can the souls in Heaven see what is happening to souls outside of Heaven?

The Bible gives us a hint in Luke, 16:19-31. A local billionaire spent his lifetime gorging on delicacies. Poor Lazarus did not have a crust of bread! Lazarus starves.

Then, Lazarus died. Angels took him to Heaven.

~

The greedy billionaire “also died and was buried”. Jesus tells us that he suffers the “torments” of hell. Jesus also tells us that he is able to see across “the great gulf”. He sees into Heaven! Whom does He see?

Lazarus! A mistreated beggar on earth is spending eternity in joy. Abraham holds him close. The self-centered billionaire suffers the torments of the damned!

~

We consider two possibilities.

1. The “diamond” walls of Heaven are like a “one-way glass”. It only lets those on the outside see what is happening to souls in Heaven.

Or,

2. Those who are in Heaven can see what’s happening to the disobedient souls in hell.

~

The Bible does not tell us that Lazarus could see the rich man’s soul. We wonder! Can souls in Heaven see the “torments” of hell the same way the lost billionaire could could see the eternal joy of those among “You are My friends if you obey My commands.”?

It is hard to imagine that souls in Heaven cannot see better than the souls in hell! Can they be “blind” to the everlasting Justice of God?
