Between Good Friday and Easter Sunday should we do this?

Catholics are blessed to know what Jesus did after His enemies thought they killed and buried Him forever.

Jesus descended into hell. The Creed of The Apostles, The First Catholic Bishops, is clear.

“I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into Hell:

the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
Amen.”

What did Jesus do in hell? He “harrowed” hell. What does that mean?

Jesus stormed through hell. The devil and his demons fled from Him in fear. He found all the good souls. He released the souls of all who would have believed and obeyed Him if He had come to earth earlier.

Today, Catholics remember what Jesus did on this Holy Saturday, 2,000 years ago.

We think of our friends and relatives who did not obey Jesus.

We remember their willful disobedience to Jesus and to The Only Church He Founded.

We are filled with regrets. “If I had thought, spoken, and lived a better example, some would have obeyed Jesus and been in Heaven. If I had been a better Catholic, they might have chosen to do what is necessary to be among: “You are My friends if you obey My commands.”

So, on this day, Catholics may plead with God. “Please, let __________ and __________ be close to You.”

May God forgive us if we are wrong to pray: “Holy Jesus. You are ‘the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.’. You could save souls from hell 2,000 years ago. You still can.”
