Catholic Fundamentalism’s Access Code goes back to a nameless Protestant. By some happy thought, he looked at John 1: 1-18, and realized: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” was written with Iron Age words for Iron Age people!
Suddenly, he realized: “We don’t live in The Iron Age. Aramaic was translated to Latin. A ‘Current Technology Translation’ lets the passage read “In the beginning was The Loving Programmer and “the Word” was “The Creation Program”.
The “Program was with The Programmer”! “He was in the beginning with God. All things came to be through him, and without him nothing came to be. What came to be through him was life, and this life was the light of the human race;”
The nameless Protestant then realized that The Holy Spirit could be seen as “Verb”, by which The Loving Programmer Programmed The Program. We see The Holy Spirit’s “verbal nature” as “shines”: “the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
It was a short step to realizing that modern technology made Catholic Teaching more perfectly understood as ultimate reality! More may see The Power of God by translating “Father, Son, and Holy Spirit” as “Programmer, Program, and Programming “.
Then, to this: “The Loving Programmer downloaded The Creation Program. Then, He downloaded us “human programs” with free will! The Creation Program, from distant galaxies to tiny quarks, was so perfect that no “human program” could ever “scientifically” prove that He did so.
He wrote and downloaded The Creation out of what we may imagine as “3-D pixels”. He downloaded a “movie set” that stretched from the farthest galaxy to the tiniest neural connection.
Amid it all, prophecies came true: “A man named John was sent from God. He came for testimony, to testify to the light, so that all might believe through Him.”
The Program took human form and fulfilled hundreds of bizarre prophecies. His life, death, and Resurrection allows every human to choose to believe and obey. The bizarre instruction He repeated eighteen times referred to “The Access Code” He provided through The Only Church He Founded, “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”
Catholic Fundamentalism offends. many who did not want to be bothered restructuring all the complicated things they’d learned from Iron Age theologians. Thus does He separate the souls of His obedient sheep.
