Catholic “Jesus Receivers” see our connection to Isaiah, Jesus, and us. #33.

Jesus has been letting blind people see for 2,000 years.

Jesus has been letting blind people see for 2,000 years.

Question 1:   “What is one way Catholic ‘Jesus Receivers’ connect The Prophet Isaiah to Jesus to us?”

Answer:  “Today’s Reading from Isaiah  29:17-24 ends with:  ‘Those who err in spirit shall acquire understanding and those who find fault shall receive instruction.’

Jesus reduced all of God’s Old Testament Teaching to this ‘instruction’ to those who ‘find fault’:  ‘Love God and love your neighbor as yourself.’

~

Question 2:  “What do Catholic ‘Jesus Receivers’ do with that ‘instruction’?”

Answer;  “We apply it to ‘finding faults’ in ourselves!  Those who strive to find and cure our ‘faults’ have ‘nothing to be ashamed of’.”

~

Question 3:  “What is the ‘first fault’ we try to cure?”

Answer:  “Violating The First Commandment and putting our desires ‘before God’ is the first and worst ‘fault’.  Seeing that helps us obey the following Nine Commandments and keeps our soul from falling farther into hell.”

~

Question 4:  “What helps people see that?”

Answer:  “Jesus!  Mt. 9:27-31 explains His Power to let us see:  ‘As Jesus passed by, two blind men followed him, crying out, ‘Son of David, have pity on us!’   When He entered the house, the blind men approached Him and Jesus said to them, ‘Do you believe that I can do this?’
‘Yes, Lord,’ they said to Him.
Then He touched their eyes and said, ‘Let it be done for you according to your faith.’  And, their eyes were opened.

~

Question 4:  “What did the formerly ‘blind men’ do?”

Answer:  “They promptly disobeyed the ‘stern warning’ from Jesus:  ‘Jesus warned them sternly, ‘See that no one knows about this.’

~

Question 5:  “No one understands!  They both disobeyed ‘the stern warning’ from Jesus when ‘They went out and spread word of Him throughout the land.’?  Wasn’t that a First Commandment Violation?”

Answer:  “They knew  Jesus wanted them to obey ‘Love God and love your neighbor as yourself.’  They could not ‘love their neighbors as themselves’ if they did not ‘spread word of Him’ to their neighbors ‘throughout the land’.”

May all be blessed to love our neighbors enough to ‘spread the Church-Creating Word’ of Jesus to His First Catholic Pope:

“And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”

Today’s Simple Rhyme:  “May we ‘Spread the Word / That we have heard.'” from Jesus Christ to His First Catholic Pope.
