Those who love living things search for the best of breed.   Thoroughbreds are sought by horsemen, cattlemen, dog breeders, plant-growers, and all who have followed the truths discovered by Gregor Mendel, the Benedictine Monk who invented the science of genetics.  Among humans, Catholic priests are the best of breed.

Catholics are overwhelmed with gratitude.  Our sins are forgiven by those Ordained with that power by Jesus in John 20:21 and Matthew 16: 18-20.  “Those those sins you forgive on earth are forgiven in Heaven.”

Then, Catholic priests, Ordained in living link with The Powers Ordained by Jesus, provide us with The Actual Body and Blood of Jesus in every Catholic Mass that follows The Last Supper.

We obey the clear call to Catholic Communion that Jesus repeated eighteen times:  “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”  It is provided only by Catholic priests.

Why are those great gifts available to us?   We receive The Sacraments because some mothers, like Mary, and some fathers, like Joseph, are blessed with loving God so much that they have raised sons who heed the call to The Catholic Priesthood.  Their great love takes human form in the men who provide the miracles of Forgiveness and Transubstantiation for us.

Therefore, we correctly conclude:  Catholic priests are the best of breed.

In every generation, Catholic priests are under assault.  They are loved by good Catholics and hated by the world.  “Who do those men think they are, giving up freedom for Vows of Obedience?  Who do those men think they are, giving up families of their own to serve the larger family that is their flock after taking Vows of Celibacy?”

We Catholics know who they are.  We look at the evidence.  We look at the results of being able to “have life in you”.  We see clearly that Catholic priests are the best of breed.
