Catholics are blessed to think logically.

Catholics are blessed to think logically. We analyze the first 8 words of what we believe:

“And I say unto you thou art Peter. . . “

+

The “And” means that He will soon provide an Important Teaching.

“I say” means that it is Jesus, Himself, God in The Flesh, Who is speaking that Teaching Into Being.

“unto you” tells us that He is talking to one person in all of History.

“thou are Peter” is the clear identification of the only man in History to whom Jesus is speaking.

+

We analyze the second 8 Words of Jesus. “and on this rock I build My Church”

That second “and” tells us that something very, very important is coming!

“on this rock” tells us that Jesus is about to Speak a Transforming Power unto Peter! He has chosen one person in all of History! Peter, and only Peter, is His Chosen “rock”!

Compared to mere minerals, Peter will be harder than diamond! Tougher than tungsten!

Upon Peter, He promises:

“I build My Church.” Jesus is telling us what He (I) will do. The verb is clear: “build”. The singular nature of “Peter”, “rock”, “I” and “My”, and “Church” have no plural forms. There is no logical reason for 45,000 Protestant denominations!

Jesus Promises to “build” “My” One “Church” on one man He has chosen.

+

Jesus specifically selected and empowered Peter. Then, He tells us what a Miraculously Monumental Miracle He has Spoken Into Being with His Third “and”! Something very, very, very important must follow!

“and”

What next?

“the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”!

Jesus is Promising us that disobedient evils will not be able to corrupt The Teachings of The Church He is Speaking Into Being.

Jesus is telling us that Peter and His Successors will provide perfect Truth in Catholic Teaching for all the time to come.

+

No wonder Catholics take Jesus so seriously! We hope that all the world will obey His Actual, Church-Founding Word:

“And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

Only those who obey Jesus may obtain what He promises next:

“I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”
