About 70,000,000 people lived in the Roman Empire when Jesus was born.  Around 2,000,000 babies were born every year.  Four of them were born every year in the tiny village of Bethlehem.

Half of them were boys.

In any given year, there was one chance in a million that a boy born in Bethlehem could be The Messiah prophesied by Micah 5: 1-3.

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, the least of the clans of Judah, out of you will be born for me the one who is to rule over Israel; .  .  .”

We see the ancient lineage of The Prophesied Messiah:   “his origin goes back to the distant past, to the days of old.”   What are “the days of old”?   The “days” before Creation!

Micah’s Prophecy is even clearer!  “Yahweh is therefore going to abandon them till the time when she who is to give birth gives birth.” (emphasis added)

Mary is “she who is to give birth”!

~The Prophecy comes true!~

“In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of hte House of David;  and the virgin’s name was Mary.”

What did God’s Messenger say?  Luke 1; 1-36 includes:

“Hail (Mary), full of grace.  The Lord is with you.”

God did not say that to any other Mother in History!  Then, Gabriel made that even clearer!  “Mary, do not be afraid.  You have won God’s favor.”

St. Luke gets more specific!  “You are to conceive and bear a son and you must name Him Jesus.”

Then, St. Luke tells us Who The Father of Jesus would be!  “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, the angel answered, ‘and the power of the Most High will cover you with its shadow.  And so the child will be holy and will be called Son of God.'”

The Holy Spirit moved some high-ranking tax collector to order Mary and Joseph to arrive in Bethlehem for a census.    The Three Wise Men got there the same time, after a three-month journey.

What are the odds of that?

~That’s part of why:

Catholics know that Every Word Spoken by The Son of God is complete Truth.

Catholics obey This Word Spoken by The “Son of God” to one person in History!

“And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”

Catholics believe Every Word of Jesus in The Bible.
