God The Father gave Moses Ten Direct Orders. May we all be blessed to let The Holy Spirit lead us to obey Three Direct Orders from The Son in Today’s Catholic Reading.

Question 1: “Why is The Lord’s Prayer so important?”
Answer: “Jesus Spoke This Word in Mt. 6:7-15 to let us connect our minds and souls with The God Who ‘made us in His image’.
‘Jesus said to His disciples: ‘In praying, do not babble like the pagans, who think that they will be heard because of their many words.’ Today’s Direct Order #1 is ‘Do not babble like the pagans’.
Direct Order #1 is so important that Jesus repeated it: ‘Do not be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.’
Then, Jesus gave us Direct Order #2:
‘This is how you are to pray: ‘Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.’”

Question 2: “Did Jesus tell us why we should obey Direct Order #2?”
Answer: “He explained it clearly in the verse after The Lord’s Prayer! ‘If you forgive others their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions.’”

Question 3: “Does The Bible repeat Direct Order #2 so everyone can understand it?”
Answer: “Mt. 5:44 and Luke 6:27 uphold Direct Order #2 for people: ‘But I say unto you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.’”

Catholics know that only those ‘who hear’ can obey. Direct Order #3 commands His people to: “Hear”!
Jesus refers to those “who hear” as “who” because He sees them as “people”. He describes “haters”, “cursers”, and “users” with “which” and “that”. He does not see them as “people”, but as those who choose to “babble like pagans”.
