Catholics see the “Hidden Prophecies” in Today’s Reading: #3.

Catholics respect The Living Truth of Jesus enough to sing: "A very, very simple song: /  'The Catholic Church is never wrong.'"

2 Samuel 24:2, 9-17 includes Punishment Prophecies.  David had sinned against The Lord, and accepted the “punishment of three days of pestilence in the land.”  That prophesied the “three days” that Jesus spent saving some souls from the pits of hell between His Death and Resurrection.  And, it let David see “the angel of death” who was “striking the people.”

His guilt prompted him to “say to The LORD: ‘It is I who have sinned;  it is I, the shepherd, who have done wrong.  But these are sheep:  what have they done?  Punish me and my kindred.”  That Prophesy was fulfilled when He Who received David’s DNA, God’s “shepherd”, Jesus, was punished by His Crucifixion.

Today’s Psalm 32:1-7 is a Prophesy of The Catholic Sacrament of Confession/Absolution:  “Lord, forgive the wrong I have done.  Blessed is he whose fault is taken away, whose sin is covered… I acknowledged my sin to You, my guilt I covered not… I confess my faults to the LORD and you took away the guilt of my sin… For this shall every faithful man pray to you in time of stress.” That is a Prophecy of every Catholic blessed to receive The Sacrament of Confession/Absolution from Catholic priests Ordained with that Power by The Only Church Spoken Into Being by He Who Fulfilled the Prophecies:

“And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”

That fulfills The Prophecy about 2,000 years of Catholics in Today’s “Alleluia” from John 10:27, “‘My sheep hear My voice’ says The Lord; ‘I know them and they follow Me.'”

Today’s Gospel, from Mark 6:1-6, is a Prophecy predicting that vanity will lead many to take “offense” at us when we explain why it is important to Be Catholic!

When Jesus said, “A prophet is not without honor except in his native place and among his own kin and in his own house.”, He was predicting that many of His own people would want to kill Him and keep as many as they could from Being Catholic.

For 2,000 years, the last Prophecy of Jesus in Today’s Reading has echoed in every Catholic mind!  “He was amazed at their lack of faith.”
