Jesus entered Jerusalem to cheers and praise. He was arrested and taken to Pilate, the “Bureaucrat in Charge”. Pontius Pilate could find no crime. He offered to let Jesus go. The Jerusalem Rent-a-Mob howled in rage! “Crucify Him!”, they cried in choreographed outrage. Catholics understand the Rent-a-Mob. Powerful officials will give in, and then wash their hands.
Who really rules? Those who hire the Rent-a-Mob.
In every age, those trying to kill truth hire a Rent-a-Mob. The Chicago Rent-a-Mob riots in the streets. Rent-a-Mobs in other cities do the same.
Prosperous Rent-a-Mob members may be dressed in suit and tie to lie before TV cameras. The Rent-a-Mob media broadcast whatever messages of impending destruction they are paid to target that day. They preach as they are paid for their masters’ gain.
Babylon had a Rent-a-Mob. Athens had a Rent-a-Mob. Rome had a Rent-a-Mob. Los Angeles has a Rent-a-Mob.
Catholics have suffered at the hands one Rent-a-Mob after another. Luther was supported by a Rent-a-Mob in many German cities. In France and England, Rent-a-Mobs killed countless Catholic priests. Hired theologians in academic Rent-a-Mobs hid the reasons in religious righteousness. Catholic lands that supported hospitals, orphanages, monasteries, convents, Catholic Churches, and accommodations for the poor were stolen by those who hired the necessary Rent-a-Mob of their time and place.
Who joins a Rent-a-Mob? Not the poor widow who put her last penny in the collection at The Temple. Not those who love their families and neighbors.
Those who join a Rent-a-Mob seek “respectable reasons” for their hatred of love, truth, and self. “There’s so many of us we must be right!” they tell themselves as they viciously attack the targets chosen for them in malls and streets.
Who hires a Rent-Mob? Who directs their assaults on neighbors? Those who love their vain ambitions more than God and neighbor gladly hire a Rent-a-Mob to take what they want. They have a trained Rent-a-Mob to attack every bastion of love and truth in education, government, and denomination.
