Professional Protestants want donors to avoid The Church-Founding Decree of Jesus.  The least intelligent of their reasons:  “We cannot be Catholic because the word ‘Catholic’ isn’t in The Bible!”

Many who repeat:  “The word ‘Catholic’ isn’t in The Bible.” nod firmly to let us know they think they have said something meaningful.

Is the word “Catholic” actually in The Church-Founding Decree of Jesus?

“. . I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven. . .”?”

Protestants are always interested if Catholics care enough about them to ask:  “If you could see that Jesus specifically referred to The Catholic Church in His Decree, would you be Catholic?”

They are smart enough to not say “Yes.”   But, all Protestants are smart enough to want to know if they’re missing something that could help them.

So, we may ask:  “What if The Roman Catholic Church changed Her name to:

“. . I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven. . .”?”

Then, we might suggest:  “The Church-Founding Decree of Jesus is a Vanity Test for souls!  Jesus had a reason for not using the word ‘Catholic’ in His Church-Founding Decree.  He wanted to separate His obedient sheep from those would choose to not see His obvious reference to The Catholic Church!”

Catholics realize that the word “Catholic” is shorthand for “The Only Church Led By Successors to Peter for 2,000 Years Without Any Change in Doctrine.”
