Election Poem

Dumb and ugly, mad and bitter

Filled with anger, wrath, and rage.

Screeching always of “Unfairness!”

As they march about  the stage.

Envy is the motivator,

Hating God and self the cause.

Pride and vanity the reason

That they each dislike God’s laws.

There’s salvation in taxation.

And great joy in leveling.

“Those above us must be brought down!”

Is the song that haters sing.

Bring all higher ever lower

Is the goal they each embrace.

But when each election’s over,

They are still stuck in their place.

But they all feel vastly better

Having let their great rage roar.

That is why we have elections,

Don’t want them to get too sore.

Let them spew their mindless drivel

Pretend their thoughts are profound.

Minds destroyed by eating bluster

Soon go quiet in the ground.

Then, another generation,

As unhappy as the first,

Comes upon the earth complaining,

Each Cain will vote for the worst.
