Every Daily Catholic Reading has Two Commands from Jesus: 1. “Be Catholic.” 2: “Stay Catholic.”

Catholics know:  "We must not let any earthly temptations keep us from Staying Catholic!"

Question 1:  “Where does Today’s Reading tell us to ‘Be Catholic.’?”

Answer:  “One of Christ’s first Cardinal-Bishops was St. Paul.  He and Barnabas had gone to Antioch, in the central part of the country now known as Turkey.    Acts 13:44-52 tells us ‘On the following sabbath, almost the whole city gathered to hear The Word of The Lord.  When some of The Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and with violent abuse contradicted what Paul had said.'”

Question 2:  “How did Paul and Barnabas respond?”

Answer:  “‘Both Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said:  ‘It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first, but since you reject it and condemn yourselves as unworthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.
For so The Lord has commanded us, I have made you a light to the Gentiles, that you may be an instrument of salvation to the ends of the earth.”

Question 3:  “How did those who were not Jewish respond?”

Answer:  “‘The Gentiles were delighted when they heard this and glorified The Word of the Lord.  All who were destined for eternal life came to believe, and The Word of the Lord continued to spread through the whole region.'”

Question 4:  “Were the activities of The First Catholic Missionaries predicted by The Psalms, a thousand years earlier?”

Answer:  “Psalm 28: 1-4 includes These Prophecies!  ‘Sing to The Lord a new song, for He has done wondrous deeds;
His right hand has won victory for Him, His holy arm.  —  The Lord has made his salvation known:  in the sight of the nations He has revealed His justice.  He has remembered His kindness and His faithfulness toward the house of Israel. —  All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation by our God.  Sing joyfully to The Lord, all you lands;  break into song; sing praise.'”

Question 5:  “Did Jesus Christ specifically say that we must ‘Stay Catholic.'”

Answer:  “Jesus is clear in John 8:31-32!  ‘If you remain in My Word, you will truly be My disciples, and you will know the truth, says the Lord.'”

~

Question 6:  “What Word of Jesus does every Catholic ‘remain in’?”

Answer:  “Catholics ‘remain in’ The Church Jesus Spoke Into Being with His Only Church-Creating Word!   ‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.'”

Every Daily Reading gives us God’s reasons to “Be Catholic” and to “Stay Catholic”.  May we be blessed to not be led astray by clever Marketing Plans that keep billions of souls from having Christ’s “keys to The Kingdom of Heaven”.
