Fish out of water.

A fish on shore writhes and wriggles desperately to get back to the water. Our souls have the same urge to be close to the God Who created them.

Like the fish struggling mightily to overcome obstacles that separate it from the source of its life, there are impediments between us and God. When we are separated from Him, we would do well to think of the fish’s frantic fight for mere water.
