God gives Bible Readers a “Confusion Headache” that is 3,000 years old! #99.

Understanding that "grandchildren" is two words helps Catholics cure "The Confusion Headache" that has puzzled believers for 3,000 years!

Catholics can cure this “Confusion Headache” from the Bible!  Today, in 2 Samuel 12:1-7,10-17, we learn that David was punished and forgiven for the sin of committing adultery with Bathsheba, killing her husband, and bearing false witness:

Thus says the LORD God of Israel:  ‘The sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised Me  and have taken the wife of Uriah to be your wife.’  Thus says the LORD:  ‘I will bring evil upon you out of your own house.  I will take your wives while you live to see it,  and will give them to your neighbor.  He shall lie with your wives in broad daylight.
You have done this deed in secret,  but I will bring it about in the presence of all Israel, and with the sun looking down.’”

What is the “Confusion Headache”?  In the Daily Reading for January 19, 1 Samuel 15:16-23, God rejected Saul’s kingship for allowing his men to take, rather than obey, His command to “destroy” what they had taken from the Amalekites.   He had “rejected” Saul for what seems to be a lesser sin, but kept David, the lying, murdering, adulterer, as King.

That is a “Confusion Headache” that Catholics can cure!  The “Grandest” of David’s “Grand children” was Jesus, born of a Virgin of the House of David (Isaiah 7:14) in the village of Bethlehem, the birthplace of King David (Micah 5:2).  For the Birth of He Who Fulfilled over 300 Messianic Prophecies to take place, David had to continue God’s Work of making Judea safe for David’s “grand children” for the next thousand years, despite trials like “The Babylonian Captivity” that would occur 500 years later.

For the Prophecies to come true, David’s grand children had to survive.  God used David to provide the political structure to let them do so.

Catholics are blessed to know that, just as God forgave David’s sin, His Catholic priests, “Ordained in the Order of Melchizedek”, have the power to forgive our sins and to provide the “bread and wine” that Melchizedek gave to David’s blessed ancestor, Abraham!

Catholics see our connection with God and David. We know that our worst sins can be as forgiven, just as David’s were.

Being Catholic is every sinner’s only cure for “Confusion Headaches”.
