God’s Creation Timeline and the Church He Spoke into Being

Fr. Georges LeMaitre’s insights reveal the vastness of God’s plan and the eternal Church born from Christ’s Word.

God’s Words Spoke Creation into Being

Around a hundred years ago, Fr. Georges LeMaitre—a Catholic priest from Belgium—used powerful telescopes to observe the expanding universe. He saw that stars were moving away from a central point, confirming that all matter had once been gathered together. This matched the ancient truth of Genesis 1: *“Then God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.”* (God’s power initiated the universe.)

From that first moment, God began unfolding His divine plan. Today, faithful Catholics recognize that the universe—stretching over 13 trillion light-years—is a majestic display of God’s timing and will. Everything we see was spoken into existence by the Creator.

Creation is not random. It is ordered. It is purposeful. It reveals the wisdom of a Loving Programmer.

Guiding Humanity Through Time

Many skeptics ask: *“What about the Stone Age? What about people who lived 500,000 years ago?”* Catholics know that God’s priest Melchizedek was active even then. *“Melchizedek, king of Salem, brought out bread and wine—he was priest of God Most High.”* (Genesis 14:18–19) (He was a priest before Abraham.)

Melchizedek’s guidance spanned continents. People in every age and land were given a chance to follow truth. Those who obeyed the voice of God’s eternal priest were blessed; those who rejected it chose their own path.

Through generations, God’s plan moved forward until Abraham received His call. Abraham obeyed, and his descendants became the People of God.

The Prophets Pointed to Christ

From Abraham’s family came the Prophets—each one guided by God to deliver messages of salvation. Over 300 prophecies foretold the coming of the Messiah. These promises were fulfilled in Jesus Christ.

*“But you, Bethlehem-Ephrathah, too small to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel.”* (Micah 5:2) (Jesus was born where foretold.)

When the Blessed Virgin Mary said yes to God, she gave birth to the Second Person of the Holy Trinity. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us—fulfilling prophecy, redeeming man, and founding the Church.

Christ Spoke the Church into Being

Jesus made His mission clear when He told Peter: *“And I say unto you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven.”* (Matthew 16:18–19) (Jesus gives Peter authority.)

The Catholic Church is not a human invention. It is the only Church spoken into being by Christ Himself. It is One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic.

Peter was the first pope, and through apostolic succession, the Church continues to this day—teaching, sanctifying, and guiding souls toward salvation.

The Final Word

Each soul chooses: to obey God or ignore Him. The Catholic Church, founded by Christ, offers the sacraments, Scripture, and truth. *“When Jesus had taken the wine, he said, ‘It is finished.’ And bowing his head, he handed over the spirit.”* (John 19:30) (Christ completes His mission.)

Jesus left us the keys. He left us the Mass. He left us hope.

Kingdom access is given to those who choose to enter through the narrow gate of obedience and faith.
