God’s IQ Test. #60. “How may I have ‘Treasures in Heaven’?”

.                                                                   Jesus Christ tells us how important it is to “see”!

The Messiah tells us about A Big Mistake!   Mt. 6:19-23 tells us what that is!

“Jesus said to his disciples:  ‘Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and decay destroy, and thieves break in and steal.'”

We ignore that!  We pile up as many things as we can.   Look at all the earthly “treasures” in our closets, cupboards, and cabinets!  We look in our mind.   It is filled with desires for more things!

Question 1.  “Is it possible to own anything that will not be ‘destroyed’ or ‘stolen’?”

Answer:  “No.”

~

Jesus did tell us what we should accumulate!

“But store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor decay destroys, nor thieves break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.”

Question 2.  “How may I have ‘treasures in Heaven’?”

Answer:  We store up “treasures in Heaven” every time we pray, do good works, obey God, and show love for our neighbors.  We want to pile up enough “treasures in Heaven” to be forever among:  “You are My friends if you obey My commands.”

~

Jesus tells us how we are made!  “The lamp of the body is the eye.  If your eye is sound, your whole body will be filled with light;  but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be in darkness.”

Question 3.  “Does our ‘eye’ include the part of our mind that is able to think about Jesus?”

Answer:  “Yes.  Letting our “eye” focus on things keeps our mind and spirit in “darkness”.

~

Then, Jesus tells us the results of not focusing our “eye” on Him!  “And if the light in you is darkness, how great will the darkness be.”  There is no “?” at the end of that sentence.  That “great darkness” is a statement of eternal fact!

Every Christian can see!  Some of what we think is “light”  is “great darkness”.

Question 4.  “If I receive The Body and Blood of Jesus Christ in Catholic Communion, will I be “light” enough to get into Heaven?”

Answer.  “There is no better beginning!”
