Lots of Americans have dogs. Moslems don’t allow people to keep dogs because they are supposed to be “unclean”. It’s hard to argue with that.

Dogs are not, by nature, clean. They eat long-dead animals along with other disgusting things, roll around in the ripest garbage they can find, shed copious amounts of hair, and have various kinds of accidents. They chew shoes and furniture. They have fleas, ticks, and mites. They carry diseases and germs on their feet. Sometimes, they lick people after having licked themselves. They knock over garbage cans looking for food. Sometimes, they steal food right from a table, stove top, or grill.

Still, lots of us have had, have, or will have dogs that we, for want of a better word, loved. When comparing the Christians who own dogs with the Moslems who ban them, it’s hard to fathom why they hate them so much and why we like them the way we do.

There’s an odd thing about “uncleanness”. Some scientists (I hate to use the word “scientists” after the Global Warming Fraudsters have so utterly cheapened the name with their endless counterfeit “scientists”) have suggested that if we are “too clean”, we are more likely to have a lower resistance to the various microbes that make us sick. Some of us dog-lovers seize upon that to conclude: “My dog is keeping my immune system working, and is saving my life!”

So, Moslems hate pet dogs. We love them. Moslems may have cleaner houses, but we always have something, if only a dog, that’s truly, enthusiastically glad to see us when we come home. That makes up for a lot of shortcomings.
