Jesus separated His chosen from the worldly by making the astounding statement “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”
The first time He said “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.” was in John 6: 53. What happened? Everyone started murmuring.

“What could this mean?” “Is it cannibalism?” “Whatever it is, it’s certainly not kosher!” “I’m getting out of here!” With such thoughts and words, the crowd that had been following Him disappeared. Only the faithful Apostles stood with Him.
“Do you want to leave, too?” He asked them.
“Where else would we go?” Peter replied. The Apostles were faithful, despite the bizarre sentence Jesus had spoken.
At the Last Supper, His chosen understood. Jesus was referring to the very substance of God. He, God, was seeking those who could put human concerns in subordination to His oddest of commands “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”
Certainly Moses said nothing like that. Neither did Buddha, Mohammed or Confucious. Only Jesus said “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”
At The Last Supper, it was made clear. Those who showed they were more obedient to He Who fulfilled the prophecies than to to human convention were there. They heard Him say “This is Body, take and eat.” while understanding that He had turned the Bread into His Body. Similarly, He turned the wine into His Blood.

Then, that great miracle became greater. The Last Supper became The First Mass. Faithful Apostles were empowered to set up His Church and ordain priests with the power to transform bread and wine into His Body and Blood forever.

The great separation continues. To this day, many cannot accept “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”
Amazingly, many who call themselves “Christian” do not accept Christ’s own words on the Miracle of Transubstantiation. They will even argue against what He said while proclaiming themselves to be “Christian”.

“I am a Christian.”, they say. “But I simply cannot accept His teaching that if we do not eat His Body and drink His Blood we do not have life in us. I just can’t believe that. And, I don’t think it’s necessary. But, I’m telling you, even though I will not obey by doing what He said, I am a Christian! I am! I am!”
