Jeremiah 20:10-13 is a “Hidden Prophecy” predicting what happens to all whose love for self makes them see Catholics as a threat against them and their establishments. “I hear the whisperings of many: ‘Terror on every side! Denounce! Let us denounce him!'” Jeremiah knew he was being attacked by people who served themselves instead of God.
“All those who were my friends are on the watch for any misstep of mine.” The Prophet makes their goal clear! ‘Perhaps he will be trapped; then we can prevail, and take our vengeance on him.” That “Hidden Prophecy” foretelling what happened to John the Baptist, Jesus, His First Catholic Bishops (the Disciples), and Catholic Saints and Martyrs for the last 2,000 years.
Catholics take heart from the next “Hidden Prophecy”! “But the LORD is with me, like a mighty champion: my persecutors will stumble, they will not triumph. In their failure, they will be put to utter shame, to lasting, unforgettable confusion.” We see that “Hidden Prophecy” predicted disappearing disbelievers from the Nicolaitans to the Arians to today’s European denominations of Lutherans and Episcopalians. They are literally “dying on the vine” as they proclaim the only thing on which they agree:
“The Church-Creating Word of He Who Fulfilled the Prophecies must be rejected! We must spend our lives encouraging our donors to avoid: “And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”
For 2,000 years, this “Hidden Prophecy” of Jeremiah about persecuted Catholics has been fulfilled! “But the LORD is with me, like a mighty champion: my persecutors will stumble, they will not triumph. In their failure, they will be put to everlasting shame.” That is a “Hidden Prophecy” of the fate of anti-Catholic souls that we see when Jeremiah made this request to God!
“Let me witness the vengeance You take on them, for to You I have entrusted my cause.” Is that a “Hidden Prophecy” of Jeremiah looking out of the “windows of clear jasper” of Heaven to “witness” the souls of his attackers suffering forever from the demons they allowed to lead them astray?
Every person criticized for Being Catholic takes heart from: “Sing to the LORD, praise the LORD, for he has rescued the life of the poor from the power of the wicked.”
For 2,000 years, the words of Psalm 18:2-7 have been a “Hidden Prophecy” that echoes in every Catholic mind: “In my distress I called upon the Lord, and He heard my voice.”
The Protestant Problem remains the same: confusion keeps them from understanding John 10:31-42, where Jesus asks: “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods’ (Psalm 82:6)” If it calls them gods to whom The Word of God came, and Scripture cannot be set aside, can you say that the one whom the Father has consecrated and sent into the world blasphemes because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?”
Their answer is always the same: “We do not believe in a God Who could love us enough, or be powerful enough, to do that!”
Then, to get away from the Jerusalem authorities whose salaries and vanities depended on not allowing any truth greater than themselves (a “Hidden Prophecy” of what bureaucracies become), “He went back across the Jordan to the place where John first baptized, and there he remained.”
That “Hidden Prophecy” predicted all who would become Catholics around the world from “across the Jordan”! “Many came to Him and said, ‘John performed no sign, but everything John said about this man was true.’ And many there began to believe in Him.”
