Today’s Catholic Reading from The Book of Esther lets us see that the devil hates Jewish people because God loves them.
God loved them so much that He led Esther to become Queen of Persia around 483 BC, after Ahasuerus (Xerxes I) became King. God moved her and her father, Mordecai, to save the Jewish people in Persia from Haman, the King’s Vizier. He was within a few days of having them exterminated.
The devil hated Jewish people even more after God saved them!
Sixty years after the Romans conquered Israel, The Loving Programmer’s Love for Jewish people led Him to have His Son, the Prophecied Messiah, take Human Form on earth. As the Prophets had Predicted, He was born of a Virgin from The Jewish Royal Family in the tiny village of Bethlehem, descended from God’s beloved Abraham and Jacob. The devil hated Jewish people even more after That Prophecy was fulfilled!
He Who Fulfilled the Prophecies made This Prophesy in Mt. 24:2, predicting that the devil would lead the most self-centered of the Jewish people to destroy Jerusalem in their ridiculous war against Rome! “Do you see all these things? Truly I tell you, there shall not be left here one stone upon another that shall not be thrown down.” That Prophecy was fulfilled 35 years later. In 70 AD, Vespasian literally “flattened” Jerusalem and what had been God’s Temple. The brilliant Jewish (and soon to Be Catholic) historian, Josephus, gives a day-by-day account that many are still blessed to read.
The devil hated Jewish people so much that he led the vainest of them to keep attacking Rome. Time after time, their forces were destroyed.
Many moved to Rome. The devil got them to make so much trouble that both Tiberius and Claudius threw them out of Rome. Many moved to Spain. Later, in 1492, many of them were sent away for fear they might help the recently defeated Muslims regain Spain.
The devil’s hatred for Jewish people continued when he led the worst of them to ignore “Thou shall not kill” and become Communists. Many ended up killing millions of others, including many Jewish rivals, as they fought for power among themselves.
The devil hated them so much that he led many to support wars on unborn babies, chastity, and all of God’s Teachings. He got as many souls as he could to renounce the “keys of Heaven”, which include The Seven Catholic Sacraments, provided by He Who Fulfilled The Prophecies to His First Catholic Pope:
“And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”

Today’s Simple Rhyme: “Catholics are blessed with an odd fate: / We pray for those the devil hates.”
