Jesus gave His Apostles an Awesome Power! “Those whose sins you forgive on earth are forgiven in Heaven.” (John 20:23)
Catholics see another Awesome Power!
~
Jesus Empowered His First Catholic Bishops to Ordain future Catholic priests with that same “Awesome Power”!
Every Catholic priest is a “living link” in a chain of “Awesome Power”. It reaches back for 2,000 years!
For 2,000 years, Catholic priests have been empowered by Jesus to provide Absolution in The Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Absolution is given to those who sincerely Confess their sins.
~
What is sin? Sin is willful disobedience to Any Word of Jesus.
Why do people sin?
The human soul is immortal. The human spirit is not. It will die when our body does. Our spirit has no sense of eternity. Every human spirit wants what it wants! Now!
When the desires of our spirit overpower our soul’s desire to obey Every Word of Jesus, we sin.
Our soul and spirit are “Living Photons”. They battle in our “arena”. It is the “echo chamber” of our brain.
~
When do Catholics go to Confession? When we realize we have willfully disobeyed Some Word of Jesus. We know the eternal consequences of choosing to live and die in willful disobedience to Any Word of Jesus Christ!
Every Catholic knows! “My soul is ‘made in the image of God’. I have sinned. My soul is no longer in ‘the image of God’! The desires of my “Eternal Living Whisper” have been overpowered by my spirit’s earthly desires. I am no longer among: ‘You are My friends if you obey My commands.’”
When we go to Confession, our Catholic priest calls upon God’s Holy Living Photons. God’s Angels come into our mind! They do two things.
1. They immobilize the evil photon who led us to disobey.
2. They heal the “short-circuit” that kept us from obeying Some Word(s) of Jesus. They re-connect our “Eternal Living Whisper“ to Jesus Christ, “The Word of God”. We are again obedient to Every Word of Jesus.
We hear our priest say: “I absolve you of your sins.” Our soul, our “Eternal Living Whisper”, is filled with joy!
After Absolution, Our Immortal Soul and our mortal spirit get along.
For awhile.
