How often does The Book of James tell us to “Be Catholic!”? #5.

“Belief is not enough! Even “demons” are smart enough to “believe” in God and ‘tremble in fear’!

~

Question 18: “Where does The Bible tell us that ‘demons believe in God’?

Answer: James, 2:19 answers that question and tells ‘believers’ that they are less intelligent than ‘demons’! ‘You believe in the one God. That is creditable enough, but the demons have the same belief, and they tremble with fear.’

~

Question 19: “What are demons smart enough to be afraid of?”

Answer: “The ‘demons tremble with fear’ because they know what’s going to happen to them! They ‘fear’ being punished forever by the souls they keep from obeying This Word of Jesus and having His ‘keys to The Kingdom of Heaven’!

‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’

~

Question 20: “Does St. James tell us how to be smarter than ‘demons’?”

Answer: “He tells us we can be smarter than demons by asking a simple question: ‘Do realize, you senseless man, that faith without good deeds is useless?’

2:21 tells us how important good deeds are! ‘You surely know that Abraham our father was justified by his deed, because he offered his son Isaac on the altar?’

2:22 tells us why God loved our ancestor, Abraham! ‘There you see it: faith and deeds were working together; his faith became perfect by what he did.’

2:23 ‘This is what scripture really means when it says: Abraham put his faith in God, and this was counted as making him justified; and that is why he was called ‘the friend of God’. Jesus repeats That Word of God’s Wisdom in John 20:23: ‘You are My friends if you obey My commands.’

2:24 ‘You see now that it is by doing something good, and not only by believing, that a man is justified.’.
May we all see how important it is to be ‘doing’ good works!”

Question 21: “Did St. James tell us that ‘good works’ could save a sinful soul?”

Answer: “James 2:25 gives an amazing example that the worst of worldly people may follow! ‘Rahab the prostitute, justified by her deeds because she welcomed the messengers (from God) and showed them a different way to leave.’

~

Question 22: “What do we learn from Abraham and Rahab, ‘the prostitute’?”

Answer: “We understand why it is best to be Catholic! James, 2:26: A body dies when it is separated from the spirit, and in the same way faith is dead if it is separated from good deeds.

~

Question 23: “What more does anyone need to know to ‘Be Catholic!’?”

Answer: “May all be blessed to Think Clearly about Every Word in The Book of James!”
