The snake in The Garden was the first to say “I am smarter than God!”  Eve was the second.  Adam was the third.  Cain quickly followed their examples.  He was the fourth to protest against God.

Billions of people insist:  “I am smarter than God!”

Those who protest against God pay no attention to anything or anyone that gets in their way.

Many want to hide their arrogance.  “I don’t want people to think that I believe I’m smarter than God, but I am!”

They find various organizations that will praise them for their beliefs.  Various varieties of vanities take form in tens of thousands of groups.  They are invented by ambitious men with Marketing Plans.  Each Marketing Plan appeals to profitable groups and locations.

Some have enough shame to hide their vanity.  They pay lip service to God.  “I believe in God, so I am saved.”  They give God no choice in the matter.  “I believe so I am saved!  That’s all there is to it!  I say that I believe what I believe, so I am saved.  God has nothing to do with it!”

Underlying each of the individual vanities embodied in countless groups and organizations is “I am smarter than God.”

Those who think “I am smarter than God!” always ignore The Great Church-Founding Decree of Jesus:

“. . I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven. . .”

They are often angry with people who say, “Jesus did fulfill The Prophecies.  Jesus is God.  Jesus did Found One Church.  Shouldn’t we respect Jesus enough to be in The Only Church He Founded?”

Few are honest enough to come right out and say “I am smarter than God!”  They do find justifications to excuse their willful disobedience to Jesus.

That indicates at least a grudging respect for God.  It is a beginning.
