Is it time to ask God to send Gideon? In his day, God’s chosen people, faithful Christians of the time, had sinned. They worshiped strange gods. To punish His chosen people for disobedience, He gave them over to the Midianites. We can learn a lot about our coming fate from Judges 6: 1-6
“The Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord, and for seven years he gave them into the hands of the Midianites. Because the power of Midian was so oppressive, the Israelites prepared shelters for themselves in mountain clefts, caves and strongholds. Whenever the Israelites planted their crops, the Midianites, Amalekites and other eastern peoples invaded the country.”
The “eastern peoples” were the sons of Ishmael, ancestors of the Moslems. Then, as now, His scourge were the descendants of Ishmael. God was already using them as a scourge to punish those who disobeyed His operating instructions. Ishmael had begun to hate his brothers, and “set his face against his brothers” even before Abraham died. His hatred was passed to many of those same people who want to destroy us, today. We see what those who hate us do to the lands and disobedient peoples when God has them act as His scourge:
“They camped on the land and ruined the crops all the way to Gaza and did not spare a living thing for Israel, neither sheep nor cattle nor donkeys. They came up with their livestock and their tents like swarms of locusts. It was impossible to count them or their camels; they invaded the land to ravage it. Midian so impoverished the Israelites that they cried out to the Lord for help.”

Today, the sons of Ishmael are moving “like swarms of locusts” into countries straying from obedience to God and His Church. Whole sections of Europe have been occupied and are unsafe for the disobedient, apostate Christians.
