Increased disability payments have a hidden danger.

“The number of workers taking federal disability insurance payments hit yet another record in July, increasing to 8,753,935 during the month from the previous record of 8,733,461 set in June, according to newly released data from the Social Security Administration.”

There are two sides to the question:  Are increased disability payments bad news, or good?

Some people think this increase is bad.  They believe that there is lots of work and that these people are too lazy to do it.   “Everyone who could be working, should be working!  People who lie to get out of work are malingerers who should be made to work.  It’s wrong to reward them simply for being lazy.”

Others think that it’s good news.  “Look, we are now so productive that 8.7 million Americans no longer have to strain their injured minds and bodies.”

Catholic Fundamentalism has another answer, indicating that increased disability payments have a great, hidden danger.    “The fact is, so many jobs have been automated out of existence that we simply don’t need as many people working.  The Loving Programmer set it up so that the slothful can get out of work by bearing less false witness than ever.  It lets The Loving Programmer weed His garden more easily.”

When looked at in light of Catholic Fundamentalism, one thing is obvious.  Increased disability payments have a hidden danger.
