It’s easily imagined that attendees of a medical convention would be introduced. Two of the attending physicians met at this intro: Doctor Proctor, Doctor Boat. That intro: Doctor Proctor, Doctor Boat is the oddest introduction ever to a Catholic Fundamentalism post.

What is so unusual about Doctor Patricia Proctor being introduced to the well known hematologist, Doctor George Boat?

When the convention had ended, the two doctors took their families for a ride on Dr. Proctor’s small yacht. When the ride was over, they returned to shore. Doctor Procter docked her boat.

The point? The sentence helps some of us see how hard it is to make sense of what we hear. We Catholics have been led through the complex wilderness of the language and still think well enough to appreciate, believe, and obey The Loving Programmer’s operating instructions enough to understand and enjoy seeing the contradictions and confusion through which we’ve passed.

We thank God. “Dear Lord in Heaven, thank you for leading me through the endless clouds of confusion to The Only Church You Founded. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

And, thank you for letting us make sense of even a popular book title, ‘Eats shoots and leaves.’ and letting us know that little details like commas make big differences in our search for truth.”
