Is this The Most Frightening Passage in The Bible?

. On His Way to Jerusalem, Jesus gives us what may be The Most Frightening Passage in The Bible.

~

Question 1: “What may be “The Most Frightening Passage” to Catholics and Protestants?”

Answer: “Today’s Catholic Reading includes Lk 19:11-28. It ends with The Most Frightening Passage!”

‘A nobleman went off to a distant country to obtain the kingship for himself and then to return. He called ten of his servants and gave them ten gold coins and told them, ‘Engage in trade with these until I return.’

~

Question 2: “Was there a bigger issue?”

Answer: “Yes! Some of ‘His fellow citizens, however, despised him and sent a delegation after him to announce, ‘We do not want this man to be our king.’ Catholics keep them in mind as we keep reading!”

Question 3: “Was he made ‘King’?”

Answer: “Yes. The ‘King’ returned. First, He judged what his servants had done. ‘The first came forward and said, ‘Sir, your gold coin has earned ten additional ones.’ He replied, ‘Well done, good servant! You have been faithful in this very small matter; take charge of ten cities.’

This went on until the last servant told Him: ‘Sir, here is your gold coin; I kept it stored away in a handkerchief, for I was afraid of you, because you are a demanding man; you take up what you did not lay down and you harvest what you did not plant.’

Question 4: “What did ‘The King’ tell the man who was too afraid of failure to use his gift?”

Answer: “‘He said to him, ‘With your own words I shall condemn you, you wicked servant. You knew I was a demanding man, taking up what I did not lay down and harvesting what I did not plant; why did you not put my money in a bank? Then on my return I would have collected it with interest.’ Then, he had the money taken from him and given to the man with ten cities.’

Question 5: “Is there guidance for us in This Parable?”

Answer: “The King was clear! ‘He replied, ‘I tell you, to everyone who has, more will be given, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.’

~

Question 6: “Did something more frightening happen after that?”

Answer: “After The King had judged his servants, he dealt with those who did not respect His Right to Rule! ‘Now as for those enemies of mine who did not want me as their king, bring them here and slay them before me.’

~

Question 7: “Will every person who refuses to learn from Scripture that Jesus is our Rightful King be taken before Him and ‘slain’?”

Answer: “May every person in the world be blessed to Think Clearly about that!”

~

Question 8: “How do we know that Jesus is referring to Himself as that ‘King’?”

Answer: “Because: ‘After Jesus had said this, He proceeded on His journey up to Jerusalem.’ That is where God’s Prophecies were Fulfilled and The Catholic Church was Spoken Into Being with This Word of King Jesus!

‘And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys of The Kingdom of Heaven and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.’
