Jesus makes life hard for Willful Protestants. The Holy Spirit makes it easier. #8.

Some Words of Jesus make it hard for many Willful Protestants to get into Heaven.  May The Holy Spirit keep us all on “The Ladder to Heaven”!

~

Question 1:  “How does Jesus make it hard to be a Willful Protestant?”

Answer:  “Jesus spent His Life encouraging people to not be Willful Protestants.  Catholics consider and obey This Teaching of Jesus in Today’s Reading from Mt.12:28-34.  2,000 years ago, one of the few people who could read and write asked Jesus The Hardest Question he could think of:

‘One of the scribes came to Jesus and asked Him:  ‘Which is the first of all the commandments?”

~

Question 2:  “What specific answer did Jesus give to The Hardest Question that ‘one scribe’ would ask?

Answer:  “Jesus gave him five answers!  ‘Jesus replied, “The first is this:  Hear, O Israel!  His first instruction was to ‘listen’ to God!

Second, Jesus defined God:  ‘The Lord our God is Lord alone!’

Third, Jesus ordered His followers to do four things:  1.  ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, ‘ 2.  ‘with all your soul,’  3.  ‘with all your mind,’  4.  ‘and with all your strength.'”

Fourth,  Jesus added This Command:  ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’

Fifth, Jesus made the importance of His Command very clear:  ‘There is no other commandment greater than these.’

~

Question 3:  “How did ‘the scribe’ answer Jesus?”

Answer:  “That ‘scribe’ knew Scripture.  He was led by The Holy Spirit to agree with That Word of Jesus!  ‘The scribe said to Him, ‘Well said, teacher.  You are right in saying, He is One and there is no other than He. And to love him with all your heart, with all your understanding, with all your strength, .  .  .

Then, that ‘scribe’ was led by The Holy Spirit to make an inspired addition to That Teaching of Jesus!

and to love your neighbor as yourself is worth more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.’

~

Question 4:  “What did Jesus say when ‘the scribe’ added onto His Word?”

Answer:  “‘And when Jesus saw that he answered with understanding, He said to him,
‘You are not far from the Kingdom of God.’

~

Question 5:  “How did the people around Him respond?”

Answer:  “‘And no one dared to ask him any more questions.’

~

Question 6:  “Why didn’t anyone ‘dare to ask Him any more questions’?”

Answer:  “They had heard all the truth their minds could handle as they began their journey to The Living Truth that Jesus introduced in Mt. 12:28-34.”

~

Question 7: “Later on, in Mt. 16:18-20, did Jesus speak Living Truth into being that would allow everyone on earth to be with Him after He ‘Ascended into Heaven’?”

Answer: “Jesus Spoke One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church Into Being with His Church-Creating Word:  ‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’

~

Question 8:  “Why do Willful Protestants have a hard time loving Jesus with all their ‘heart, soul, mind, and strength’ so they may be in The Only Church Jesus died to Speak Into Being?

Answer:  “Pride keeps many Willful Protestants too confused to think as clearly as ‘the scribe’ about getting Wisdom from The Holy Spirit.

~

The nameless ‘scribe’ helps us!  It is not as “hard” for a Willful Protestant to be Catholic if we ask The Holy Spirit to fill our ‘heart, soul, and mind’ with ‘all the strength’ we need to live in obedience to Every Word of Jesus.

For 2,000 years, The Holy Spirit has helped billions of people get their soul the only ‘keys to The Kingdom of Heaven’ that Jesus died to leave to One Church on earth.

There are interesting ideas to read and share in the short Daily Columns. Many like the free links to free books: https://catholicfundamentalism.com/our-books/

Something unusual: Since these books are free, they cannot be bought. Catholic Fundamentalism follows James 2:1-6, and makes ‘no distinction’ between richer and poorer Catholics.
