Jesus promises more “Woe” to “memorial builders”!

In Today’s Reading, Jesus promises more “Woe” to “memorial builders”.

In Today’s Reading, Jesus promises more “Woe” to “memorial builders”.

Question 1:  “In yesterday’s Reading, Jesus identified those who would suffer eternal ‘woe’.  To whom does Jesus promise more ‘woe’ will come today?”

Answer:  “In Luke 11:47-54 Jesus sums up History’s evils in two sentences!  ‘The Lord said:  ‘Woe to you who build the memorials of the prophets whom your fathers killed.’ Then He tells them what they are doing:
‘Consequently, you bear witness and give consent to the deeds of your ancestors,
for they killed them and you do the building.’

~

Question 2:  “Does that sum up all the evils in History for Catholics?”

“The Word ‘Catholic’ means ‘universal’.  Catholics see ‘universal Truth’ in Jesus’ Words!  We know that ‘memorials’ were built in Turkey ten or twelve thousand years ago.  In the past 2,500 years, ‘memorials’ like Stonehenge were built in England, Ireland, and throughout Europe.  Pyramids in Egypt and Mexico, and Great Walls in China, were ‘mem0rials’ honoring those who enslaved and often killed the people forced to build them.”

~

Question 3:   “Did God send anyone to teach that ‘memorial builders’ should be doing better things?”

Answer:  “‘Therefore, the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and Apostles; some of them they will kill and persecute’ so that this generation (people in our time) might be charged with the blood of all the prophets shed since the foundation of the world, from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah . . .’

~

Question 4:  “Do The Words of Jesus let Catholics see that Abel’s food-producing farming operations were ‘memorials’ to his obedience to God and that vain Cain ‘shedding Abel’s blood’ was a ‘memorial’ to his jealousy?”

Answer:  “Catholics see how Jesus answers that!  ‘Yes, I tell you, this generation will be charged with their blood!’

~

Question 5:  “What causes some people in every age to justify plundering, enslaving, and killing their neighbors?”

Answer:  “Jesus identified another group who builds ‘mental memorials’ that condemn their souls: ‘Woe to you, scholars of the law!  You have taken away the key of knowledge.  You yourselves did not enter and you stopped those trying to enter.’

~

Question 6:  “Did ‘scholars of the law’ heed The Promise of Jesus and change their lives to avoid suffering eternal ‘woe’?”

Answer:  “No!  Most of them immediately started building another ‘memorial’ to vanity:  ‘When Jesus left, (both their meeting and the world at His Ascension) the scribes and Pharisees began to act with hostility toward Him and to interrogate Him about many things, for they were plotting to catch Him at something He might say.’

~

Question 7:  “There is a Mystery in That Passage!  How could scribes and Pharisees ‘interrogate’ Jesus after He ‘left’?”

Answer:  “They asked each other questions and ‘imagined’ what Jesus would ‘answer’.  That is as close to ‘worshiping’ Jesus as Victims of Protestantism can come, putting their words in His mouth!”

‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’
