Do you like silver? Warning.

Malachi 3:3 reads:  “For He is like the refiner’s fire and the fullers’ alkali.  He will take His seat as refiner and purifier, He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver. . . . “

When a man refines silver, he heats it to the melting point in the hottest part of the fire.  How does he know when all the impurities have been burned away?  When the silver is pure, the refiner can see his reflection in the pure, molten silver.  As soon as his reflection is visible, he removes it from the fire.

There is a warning in our attraction to silver.  Even the most polluted of people prefer pure silver.  We are made in the image of God in many ways.
