Little dead places in the brain. #7.

We better understand our relationship with God by seeing how we relate with computers. Computer programs, we know, are attacked by viruses. When viruses corrupt our computer programs, they crash.

When we imagine ourselves as The Loving Programmer’s beloved and extremely complicated “replicating human programs”, we see that other “replicating human programs” sometimes crash. Why?

Human programs crash when their firewalls cannot keep The Seven Deadly Viruses from accessing and corrupting our programs. There are seven tribes of corrupting viruses: pride, envy, greed, gluttony, anger, lust, and sloth. They get into our program through Little dead places in the brain.

Once inside, corrupting viruses spread tendrils of corruption throughout the mind. The goal is to separate the soul, the essence around which each human program is downloaded, from The Loving Programmer.

Jesus provided a firewall. Those properly Baptized in The Name of The Father The Son, and The Holy Spirit are able to close the access port that was opened by Original Sin.

After Baptism, the Sacraments of Confession, Communion, Confirmation, Marriage, Holy Orders, and Last Rites provide additional protection against the viruses of pride, envy, greed, gluttony, anger, lust, and sloth.

Viruses enter our mind through the access provided by contradictions. The contradiction they like to download in Catholic minds? “I am a Catholic, but am inclusive enough to respect every single person who says they are sincere Christians.”

Those in the schisms are accessed by the contradiction implicit in: “I believe in Jesus and the Bible but do not believe He was right when He said “Thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church. .'” Another, “Jesus said ‘If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.’ I choose not to do what’s necessary to receive His Body and Blood in the Only Church He Founded.” Those are big contradictions. They are quickly followed by throngs of other contradictions that allow even more corrupting viruses to enter.

Once the doorway to schism is opened, it is very hard to close. When we lose the Sacramental firewalls, our programs are correspondingly corrupted by viruses of pride, envy, greed, gluttony, anger, lust and sloth.
