Magic Answers are Always Popular

A few years ago, headlines similar to:  “If your house was insulated well enough, it could be heated with a toaster!” filled the popular “science” magazines.
Today, magic gadgets are “just about to be invented” that will “let you produce all the energy you need off the grid!”  If you look for them, you’ll notice how amazingly frequently such imaginary solutions are appearing to solve real problems created by trying to solve imaginary ones.

Meanwhile, as intended, taxes just keep increasing.
