Now that government is supplying over half the people in the United States with an income, many view it as a provider, like fathers and husbands used to be. Those in “the family” have the same personality traits that other “family” members have. Some are spoiled children, who want more. Others are sullen and unhappy. All want attention.
The huge, dysfunctional “family” that this new “provider” has brought into being is not working. Still, few seem to care. As long as the money holds out, the “provider” will appear to provide and the “family” will maintain some sort of order.
