Eve ate the “forbidden fruit” and was expelled from The Garden of Eden.
The Book of Numbers 12:10 in The Bible tells us that jealousy drove Miriam to conspire against God’s Chosen Leader, her younger brother Moses. God was so angry with her that He turned her “white with leprosy”.
“Modern Miriams” ignore The Church-Creating Decree from He Who Fulfilled The Prophecies: “And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” They also reject The Gift Jesus died to leave to His First Catholic Pope: “I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.“
“Modern Miriams” share the same vanity: “I do not need The Seven Catholic Sacraments to get into Heaven. If you are as wonderful as I am, you don’t need them, either.” Thousands of Protestant Marketing Plans have justified 2,000 years of “Modern Miriams”.
There is a hidden reason many “Modern Miriams” avoid being Catholic: “Catholic nuns take Holy Vows of Poverty, Obedience, and Chastity. We avoid living reminders of understanding that we do not want to consider.” They say that while they avoid thinking about why their grandparents’ disappearing denominations are falling into the Arian Trashbin of History before their eyes!
“Modern Miriams” do not want to see that the name “Miriam” has always meant “angry” and “rebellious”. They keep themselves from “the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven” that Jesus died to leave on earth with the unspoken and only universal Protestant belief: “Jesus must let me into Heaven.”
What turns many women into “Modern Miriams”?
Every conventional television show, movie, magazine, newspaper, bureaucracy, advertisement, and big business appeals to “Modern Miriams”. Their “anger” and “rebelliousness” to God are praised wherever they choose to look.
Catholic women wonder, “Who was the First Female Catholic Martyr?” and find St. Theckla. She came from a wealthy family in Turkey. Her mother had chosen a suitable husband for her to continue the family legacy of multi-generational success. She could have been another “Modern Miriam”! But, after listening to St. Paul preach in the house near her open window, she was blessed to realize, “The most important thing I can do is to save my immortal soul by being pleasing to God.”
Her fiancé was so angry that he complained to the Governor, and Paul was put in prison. St. Theckla endured torture. She was so blessed that wild beasts in the arena were not allowed to harm her! Officials realized: “The God Who saved her can destroy us!”, and they released her. She helped Paul in his teaching. Then, she spent the rest of her life in a desert cave, encouraging her beloved neighbors to Be Catholic.
May every “Modern Miriam” be blessed to think about St. Theckla. It is better to follow the path of humility that leads to “the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven” than fall into the mire in which “Modern Miriams” endlessly flounder.
