Only Catholics See the Miracle in John 13:31

How One Verse Reveals the Trinity and the Church's Purification

The Trinitarian Revelation in John 13:31

Today’s Gospel reading from John 13:31 reveals a powerful truth. It happens just after Judas leaves to betray Jesus. At that moment, Jesus says, *“Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him.”

Here, Jesus calls Himself the “Son of Man.” This title points to His divine mission. The “glorification” means more than honor. It shows the deep love and unity between the Father and the Son. This moment marks a turning point in the divine plan.

The Role of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit isn’t named in this verse, but His presence is real. Catholic teaching explains that He proceeds from the Father and the Son. He is the love between them.

Therefore, when the Father and Son are glorified, the Holy Spirit is involved. Later, Jesus will send Him to guide the Church. Even now, the Holy Spirit sanctifies us through the sacraments and the Word.

Judas’ Departure and the Church’s Purification

Judas leaving means more than betrayal. It shows the removal of sin and disobedience. Only then could Jesus begin building His Church.

The Church must be holy. Judas’s departure signals a move toward that holiness. It prepares the Apostles to become true witnesses of Christ.

The Eucharist: Sharing in the Life of God

Catholics believe the Eucharist is more than a symbol. Through it, we truly receive Christ—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. This unites us with the Trinity.

As the Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches: *“The Eucharist is ‘the source and summit of the Christian life.’”* (CCC 1324). Each Communion draws us deeper into the glory of God.

Conclusion

John 13:31 does more than recall history. It helps us see the Trinity at work. It shows the Church becoming holy. It invites us to enter this mystery through the Eucharist.

Therefore, as Catholics, we rejoice. God reveals His plan step by step. Through Scripture, through the sacraments, and through faith, we are drawn into divine glory.

Today’s Simple Rhyme: “One is Three and Three is One” / In The Church Glorified by The Father and Son.”
