Catholic Saints and Scholars are in tune with God’s timetable. They know that we are running out of time. The Church realizes that its primary mission of saving souls is going to be coming to an end. To reach out more effectively, The Church began to hold services in many languages.

When The Church did hold services in Latin, the Pastor Bobs insisted “All that Latin mumbo-jumbo just keeps Catholics ignorant and superstitious.”

A Pastor Bob contradiction: Today, The Church Jesus Founded uses English and native languages and it is the Pastor Bobs who use the classic Latin of The Catholic Church to dress up the hollow shell of their core belief, “We are saved by faith, alone.” They call it “Sola Scriptura”. Many are led to believe it’s something profound! Public Education has done such a magnificent job that the phrase resonates among many as a meaningful replacement for the deep complexity of Christian thought.

The speed with which Pastor Bobs react when “Sola Scriptura” is criticized as a means of salvation is fascinating. When Catholics point out “St. James, a Disciple appointed directly by Jesus, said ‘Faith without works is dead.'” it’s fun to watch as Pastor Bob is on the job! “Oh, no! When we say “Sola Scriptura” what we really mean is that if we have real faith, it is accompanied by works. So, we value works at the meaningful result of faith!”

Think about that. It is like having a self-appointed mathematician announce: “We only believe in ‘One’!” Then, when he is told by someone smarter, “That is an absolutely useless belief.” the pretend mathematician responds “Well, those who truly believe in One, will get to Two.”

That is what the Pastor Bobs do! Incredibly, people take them seriously! “Pastor Bob just told me that we must believe in ‘Sola Scriptura’, because it really isn’t “Sola Scriptura’ but something much deeper! It is actually ‘Sola Scriputra plus Laboro. Pastor Bob says ‘Laboro’ is the Latin word for ‘works’. So, “Sola Scriptura really means ‘We are saved by faith and works.’ I don’t know why Pastor Bob just didn’t say so from the beginning. I’m very confused. I’m just glad that Pastor Bob is going to have a sermon about that, next week.

We see that Pastor Bob is on the job! From Pastor Bob’s bulletin for next week:

“Next week’s sermon will be ‘We call it ‘Sola Scriptura’ but it isn’t.’ What we really believe is not ‘Sola Scriptura’ but this: ‘Scriptura plus Laboro equals salvare.’ Actually, it’s a very Catholic position. What ‘Sola Scriptura’ really means is no different than James “faith without works is dead”, but that doesn’t mean we should take any other Catholic passages seriously! Make sure you don’t, especially that passage about “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you. See you next week!”
